3 Reasons Why I Blog

Happy Saturday!

Some of you may be wondering why I started a blog in the first place. It seems like it’s the “cool thing” everyone is doing, but I’m not usually one to go with the crowd. I actually have a 3 part answer to this, so sit tight and enjoy the read!

New Beginnings

In May, I am finally graduating from university. The thought “free at last” definitely comes to mind! With the end of my college education comes a new chapter of my life, and I want to document every bit of it. After graduation, I will be departing on a 20-day SOLO trip to Europe, and you will definitely be seeing that on The Golden Lining. I just want to share with you my life and my experience, and I feel like writing is the most authentic way I can do that.

Living Intentionally

I feel like The Golden Lining gave my life more purpose, as funny as that sounds. Though I am writing for myself, I feel like sharing my thoughts and experiences is actually helpful. It helps me organize my thoughts, express myself and document my life. And I hope it provides to my readers inspiration to go out and be unapologetically as awesome as I feel I am.

Creating a Brand for Myself: The Reason Behind The Golden Lining

I chose to name my blog The Golden Lining for a very specific reason. I’m sure you’ve heard of a silver lining, “an optimism in the common.” My lining happens to be golden. Gold holds a lot of meaning in my life. It looks great with my complexion and it is the metal of choice since I am Egyptian [check out ancient Egyptian stuff if you’re unsure what I mean!]. Anyway, I thought it was pretty original and definitely meso I decided to go with it.

There you have it! The three main reasons why I started The Golden Lining and why I continue to blog. I see a lot of people only doing it for the fame and money, and while that can be a nice perk of blogging and having a social media presence, I can see how they can get lost doing that and they lose their authenticity. Fame-hungry people thrive on likes, and it isn’t healthy and it’s not the reason you started your blog in the first place, if you have one.

If you ever feel like you're losing yourself in the blogging and/or social media world, write a post like this to remind yourself why you started in the first place.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post! Please leave any feedback, comments, thoughts, love below in the comments. ❤

Until next time,
